CoLabRoom is a beta, published by Decibel Zero LLC ("we", "us"). These terms are written to match what the app actually does today, not a generic template — and one field below is still a placeholder pending legal review; see the note where it appears.
CoLabRoom is in active testing. Features can change, break, or disappear between builds, and the automatic chord and lyric analysis is a first pass, not a guaranteed-accurate one — Tap Sync and manual correction exist because of that. We don't promise a particular level of uptime or that the service will be available at any given time.
You need an account to use CoLabRoom. You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for what happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create one.
Your lyrics, recordings, and everything else you put into CoLabRoom stay yours. Using the app means giving us permission to store, transmit, and process that content for the purpose of running the app — including sending a recording to the analysis services described in the Privacy Policy when you ask for analysis. We don't claim ownership of what you write, and we don't use your song content to train any model.
What you say is your content too: messages to one person, lines in a room's thread, replies on an ask and notes are stored so the people they are for can read them, and the same rules apply to them.
Don't upload anything you don't have the right to — a sample, a cover's original recording, a co-writer's work without their agreement. You're responsible for what you put into a room.
Deleting your account is immediate, permanent, and cannot be undone. It removes your profile and every room you own — including its songs and everything your bandmates added to them. There is currently no way to transfer a room to someone else first. If you own a room your band is actively using, make sure everyone has a copy of anything they'd want to keep before you delete your account.
Deleting your account also deletes every message you sent, in rooms and to people, along with your questions to the app, your notes and your connection requests.
CoLabRoom has an Open Mic: a place you can list yourself, put a song where other musicians can hear it, and ask somebody you have never met to play on it. Every part of that is something you choose to do, and every part of it can be undone — the Privacy Policy says exactly what becomes visible with each one.
What arrives from a stranger has not been reviewed by us before you see it. Every place somebody else's music or profile appears carries a way to report it and a way to block the person who put it there, and blocking also closes anything already open between the two of you.
You can write to somebody you are connected with or share a room with; the app does not deliver a message to anybody else. A room's thread is read by everybody in that room, including people who join later, so treat it as the band's rather than yours. Anything you wrote can be taken back from inside the app, and blocking somebody closes what is open between you.
We don't read messages as a matter of course. When something is reported, we look at what was reported, and the Privacy Policy says what is stored.
You can ask the app about a song and get an answer written by a language model from what the app has worked out — the key, the chords, the sections, the words. It is a guess from what the app heard: it can be wrong, it is not advice of any kind, and every answer ends by pointing you at a person. The Privacy Policy says exactly what is sent, and to whom.
Don't use CoLabRoom to:
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour here. We read every report, and acting on one can mean removing the content, removing the account, or both. We can suspend or remove an account that does any of the above, and we can remove content that violates these terms. CoLabRoom is a beta run by a very small team, so we won't promise a response time we can't keep — but nothing reported goes unread.
Report anything from inside the app — every song, take, profile, link and ask has a report on it — or write to support@colabroom.com. If what you are reporting is somebody else's copyrighted work, the copyright page is the faster route.
CoLabRoom is provided as-is, especially given its beta status. We don't warrant that the app, or the automatic analysis it offers, will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free.
To the extent the law allows, Decibel Zero LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of CoLabRoom — including loss of song content, to the extent it results from your own account deletion or from beta instability we've disclosed above.
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and say so inside the app.
