CoLabRoom is published by Decibel Zero LLC. Child sexual abuse, exploitation, grooming and sexual content involving children are forbidden here. This page explains our age rules and how to tell us that a child may be at risk.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 in the United States, or your local emergency number. In Florida, then call the Florida Abuse Hotline (1-800-96-ABUSE) — 1-800-962-2873. The Florida Department of Children and Families explains how to report suspected abuse, abandonment or neglect.
A report to CoLabRoom does not contact emergency services or the hotline. Do not wait for an answer from us when a child needs urgent help.
CoLabRoom is for musicians 13 and over. People aged 13 to 17 may work on music in ordinary rooms with people they know. Read the age rules in our Terms with a parent or guardian.
Calls, Clef, lesson links and lesson rooms, meeting people you have not worked with, and receiving ownership of a room are for people 18 and over for now. The Terms explain the other adult features. Only join rooms with people you know and trust.
CoLabRoom does not choose, check, employ or recommend teachers. Lessons stay for adults until a parent or guardian can invite the teacher and see and join the lesson. CoLabRoom is not offered to schools as a school service, and children under 13 may not use it through a school.
A child under 13 may not have an account. Our Terms require us to stop an account working as soon as we learn it belongs to a child under 13, and to delete the account and what the child put on CoLabRoom within 14 days, including their takes and words in other people’s rooms. Backups follow the Privacy Policy.
If you believe your child has an account, or want their information deleted, write to support@colabroom.com. Tell us enough to find the account. Do not send identity documents unless we ask for what is needed to handle your request.
In the app, open the profile, song or recording, choose Report, and choose A child may be in danger when it is offered. On an older version, choose Something else and explain the concern. You can also write to hotline@colabroom.com or abuse@colabroom.com.
Say where we can find the account or material and why you are concerned. Do not download, attach or forward suspected child sexual abuse material. Tell us where it is instead. You do not need to collect evidence yourself.
Child-safety reports need a person’s urgent attention. We review the concern, restrict or remove material or accounts where appropriate, and report to the authorities where the law requires it. Reporting a concern does not itself decide that someone has done something wrong.
You can report suspected online child sexual exploitation to the NCMEC CyberTipline. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children explains what it receives and how it handles a report.
When we learn of apparent child sexual abuse material or other child sexual exploitation that we are required to report, we report what we have to NCMEC and preserve the report and associated material as the law requires. A person handles that report; pressing Report in CoLabRoom does not automatically file with NCMEC. The Florida hotline is a separate route for suspected child abuse.
