Songwriting for musicians
Record a riff tonight. Wake up to a vocal on it.
Record over what's there. Someone adds a lead at midnight, four hundred miles away. Nothing gets written over.
Inside Takes →One button. One phone recording. Everything you'd have worked out by ear.
What it hears →Chords above the words. Everyone's colour beside the lines they wrote.
Words and chords →It knows your key and your chords. So it can tell you what else fits, what to play over it, and what to sing against it.
What works here →Nobody has to be free at the same time. That's the whole idea. And the band talks in the room — one thread each, and your people in one place.
How a room works →Put a song up and say what it needs. Nothing is public until you say so.
How the Open Mic works →The beta is small and free, and I read everything that comes back.
Ask for an invite Already have an account? Sign inRooms are private to their members. Voice notes, takes and reference recordings are stored with the room they belong to. Imported documents are read on your own device.
This is immediate and permanent, with no undo and no recovery window. It removes your profile, your lyric lines, comments and invitations — and every room you own, including its songs and everything your bandmates added to them. There is currently no way to hand a room to someone else first, so if you own one your band is using, make sure everyone has their own copy of anything they would want to keep before you delete your account.
If you cannot sign in and need your account removed, email support@colabroom.com from the address you signed up with.
Takes nobody has opened for 90 days are removed, so storage does not grow forever. You are warned before it happens, opening a song resets the clock, and everything can be exported from inside the app at any time.
This is a beta built by one person. Things will be rough in places. Feedback lives inside every song and comes straight to me rather than to a ticket queue.
